The department has overall responsibility for developing, leading, and coordinating the municipality’s strategic work in the areas of operational management, finance, and procurement. Other responsibilities include providing advice, support, and services to elected officials, managers, and others. In the municipality, administrative processes are centralized, and financial support for committees and departments is therefore handled by our Finance Department.  You will be part of a team of 11 financial controllers and economists and will provide support to operations within the Community Development Administration. You will work closely with the economists on your team who are active in the same operational area. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES As a financial controller, you will serve as a process leader and be responsible for developing, leading, and coordinating the work related to financial planning and monitoring processes. Other responsibilities include developing financial management and resource allocation, as well as preparing analyses and decision-making documentation for policymakers and department management. Your responsibilities also include providing consultative support to unit managers in their work with budgets, forecasts, financial statements, and reporting, which involves frequent contact with the operations. The role also includes conducting training sessions for managers and employees. You will work on issues related to both operating and capital budgets. The Community Development Administration manages the municipality’s largest investments in areas such as infrastructure and water and sewer systems. The work also includes other finance-related tasks such as statistics, government grants, project management, operational data, and day-to-day accounting matters. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree in economics. You have combined your education with several years of professional experience, during which you have gained experience in leading and coordinating work related to budgeting, accounting, or financial statements. You have experience providing operational support to management and using various tools to streamline budgeting and follow-up processes. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, with a focus on Excel, is required. You express yourself well both verbally and in writing, are accustomed to giving presentations, and are skilled at communicating financial matters in a clear and straightforward manner. Additionally, experience in the following areas is a plus: • Providing operational management support • Hypergene for monitoring and analysis, as well as Unit4’s financial system • Experience in the public sector or other large organizations • Laws and regulations in the municipal sector • Accounting for major investment projects As a person, you are analytical, structured, and have a consultative approach. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively and take full responsibility for your tasks. You are proactive and take the initiative to drive development efforts. You adapt easily to changing circumstances and have strong listening and communication skills. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
