The Parks Unit is part of the Technical Department, Public Works Administration. WORK TASKS We are looking for people with solid experience of and interest in forest management and trees. The work consists of both administrative and practical work. Your main task is to be responsible for the urban forest, but you also participate in other tasks in winter. In the urban forest, you plan measures, supervise seasonal staff, participate in the practical work, follow up and report on measures carried out in GIS maps. You carry out tree felling and take care of the transportation of the timber and the emptying of stockpiles. In many cases, we work in narrow places directly adjacent to private homes / plots and you therefore need to have good experience of more difficult tree felling. You inspect trees and decide on any action based on our guidelines. Through this you have many contacts with citizens. The parks unit also carries out thinning, felling and under-clearing in the production forest on behalf of the department. We work outdoors in all weathers and the practical work is physically demanding. We offer a varied job and would like you to contribute to the development of our activities. You need to be self-driven, committed and enjoy taking responsibility. Working hours are 07.00-16.00, Mon-Fri QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are interested in working with the urban forest and contributing to its aesthetic, biological and recreational values. You have many years of experience in clearing, felling and other forestry work. You are a responsible person who can work both independently and with others. You can plan and work efficiently and in a structured manner based on guidelines. You have a good sense of service and communicate well both in your work group and with citizens. You are physically fit and enjoy physically demanding work. You enjoy both administrative and practical work. You will be using digital tools such as the Office suite and other business critical applications so your computer skills should be good. You have a background as a forestry worker or similar and have many years of work experience in the industry. You have both the willingness and the skills to take on your own responsibilities and experience of managing others. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities where we are looking for you with a drive and ability to work independently. You work well with your work group and other colleagues and contribute to a good working atmosphere.
