The Public Works Administration shall with a forward-looking approach make available, maintain, manage and develop the municipality's physical environment, infrastructure and transport. The work of the administration is permeated by cooperation, holistic approach and efficient use of resources. The Public Works Administration consists of the following operational areas: Spatial Planning, Water, Sewerage and Waste, Streets, Parks and Forests and Real Estate, Environment and Construction. The Projects and Investment unit manages and coordinates the administration's new and reinvestments.

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a unit manager for the traffic unit at the Technical Department, a role with overall responsibility for operations, finances, staff and work environment. As manager, you lead the unit towards set goals within given frameworks and legislation, and you create good conditions for qualitative work through clear and trust-based leadership.
You are responsible for managing and distributing the work of nine employees with different roles such as traffic engineers, administrators, project managers and parking attendants. Together you work to develop the entire traffic system in the municipality and contribute to a safe, functional and sustainable traffic environment. The work is closely linked to the urban planning process and requires collaboration both internally within the administration and externally with citizens, politicians and other stakeholders.
As Head of Unit, you are part of the management team for the Technical Department and report to the Head of Department. You have an operational role with a strong focus on development, follow-up, communication and cooperation. The role also includes preparing cases for politics and responding to letters.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who have:
- At least 10 years of work experience
- Experience in traffic and infrastructure planning
- Proven experience in managing staff
- University degree in, for example, road and traffic, civil engineering or similar
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
- B driving license
It is an advantage if you have:
- Previous management experience
- Knowledge of traffic legislation
- Experience in a politically controlled organization
- Understanding of municipal spatial planning process
- Knowledge in the field of public transport
You are a confident and committed leader who is able to prioritize, make decisions and create participation. You are responsive, clear and have a keen interest in transport and urban development issues. Your ability to collaborate and build trust, both internally and externally, is crucial to success in the role.
