We have overall responsibility for integration, labor market, education, and employment issues affecting our municipality’s residents. The department is also responsible for the Culture School, food services, and Student Health. We are now looking for a Home Economics and Consumer Studies teacher who wants to help contribute to our students’ learning, well-being, and future opportunities. Stureskolan is a middle school in the city center with approximately 370 students in grades 7–9. We also offer a preparatory class for newly arrived students, an adapted elementary school program, and ISB—the International School of Boden. We are organized into four teams where collaboration and collegial learning are central. Each work team is led by a special education teacher who also serves as the team leader. We have a strong culture of sharing where we support one another and develop our teaching together. Our student health services are well-established and consist of the principal, assistant principals, special education teachers, a counselor, a school nurse, a school psychologist, and a college and career counselor. Together, we work proactively and preventively to create the best possible conditions for our students. We also have a safety team with a safety coordinator and safety resources that contribute to positive relationships and a safe school environment both during class time and at recess. Right now, we are focusing particularly on improving student attendance and their reading and writing skills. Surely you’d also like to have one of the most important jobs in the world? 1 position(s). JOB DESCRIPTION We’re looking for someone who wants to work with us as a home and consumer studies teacher. In this role, you will be responsible for teaching grades 7–9. You will plan, implement, and follow up on instruction based on the curriculum’s goals and create learning environments where students develop both knowledge and important life skills.The position also includes serving as a homeroom teacher, where you will work with colleagues to ensure that every student feels safe, motivated, and able to study in a calm environment, and has the best possible conditions to succeed in school. You will be an important part of the school’s development efforts and actively contribute to collegial learning and the continued development of our operations. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a certified teacher qualified to teach home economics and consumer studies. You have strong pedagogical insights, are well-versed in the school’s governing documents, and view collaboration as a natural and essential part of the teaching role. You want to contribute to the school’s development and thrive in an environment where collegial learning and shared responsibility are central. As a person, you find it easy to build and maintain good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You are clear, committed, and structured in your leadership and create a safe and stimulating learning environment where students are given the opportunity to develop and succeed.
