We have overall responsibility for integration, labor market, education, and employment issues affecting our municipality’s residents. The department is also responsible for the Culture School and food services, and carries out tasks related to the medical and psychological aspects of student health in municipal preschool, elementary school, special education elementary school, high school, and special education high school. As an employee in our department, you will have competent colleagues who show respect and tolerance, and whose strong commitment fosters job satisfaction and pride. The Central Reception for New Arrivals (CMN) is tasked with receiving and conducting an initial assessment of the learning needs of newly arrived children and students. CMN is also responsible for coordinating native language instruction and academic counseling. With that said, we’d like to welcome you to our team! After all, don’t you also want one of the most important jobs in the world? 1 position(s). JOB DESCRIPTION You will work as a native language teacher in elementary school. Your workplace will be various school units and different types of schools where children and students are enrolled. Your teaching will take place in the form of in-person instruction. In some cases, remote instruction may be an option. Upon hiring, you will receive an orientation regarding your job responsibilities. You will receive ongoing support in your professional role through various support functions at the workplace. The position is 50% and is temporary, covering the period from August 10, 2026, to July 31, 2027. QUALIFICATIONS We prefer that you are a certified teacher with a Swedish teaching degree or that you have a documented foreign teaching degree. If you lack a teaching degree but can demonstrate that you have another suitable university degree, that may be sufficient. It is advantageous if you have work experience in the Swedish school system and are familiar with the Education Act and the curricula for the various school types. We therefore expect you to share these core values and be able to put them into practice in both word and deed. You can adapt and vary your teaching methods. You are a strong leader in the classroom and can build trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and school administrators.  It is also advantageous if you have digital skills and abilities so that you can conduct native language instruction remotely. You are flexible, a team player, and self-reliant. You are open to new ideas and approaches and are committed to continuously improving your teaching with a focus on learning. Working as a native language teacher will provide you with rich opportunities to meet newly arrived and multilingual children and youth, and your efforts will make a difference.  The position is temporary for the 2026–2027 school year. We offer a 40-hour-per-week position with flexible hours. Employment type: Temporary employment. Duration: 6 months or longer. Please attach your teaching license or diploma.
