JOB DUTIES As a preschool teacher, your duties will include working with children ages 1–5 at the preschool, as well as at the summer preschool during school breaks. The preschools have a highly skilled staff, and you’ll have both individual and collaborative planning time with colleagues as you work together to develop the program. You must be prepared to work during the preschool’s operating hours, 6:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m., as well as during professional development sessions in the evenings. You will work in accordance with the preschool’s curriculum and strive to achieve greater goal fulfillment in a committed and positive manner. You must be able to view each child based on their individual needs and adapt your work with the children accordingly. Collaboration and cooperation with colleagues, the principal, the assistant principal, and the preschool coordinator are a major part of the job. Digital tools are used in the daily documentation of the systematic quality assurance work. Because the preschool systematically documents projects and development discussions in digital systems, there is a structured framework for collegial collaboration. The preschool fosters children’s language development, creates learning opportunities in everyday situations, and treats one another with respect and kindness. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a licensed preschool teacher. You should be positive, flexible, cooperative, solution-oriented, and confident in your professional role. It is important that you follow collective decisions, see the big picture, and work for the best interests of the children and your workplace within the framework of the conditions the program offers. You will use digital tools in our systematic quality assurance work, so knowledge of digital tools is a requirement. Boden Municipality’s preschools actively promote language development. Experience with the TRAS, MIO, and Low-Affect Approach tools is a plus. You are expected to interact with children, guardians, colleagues, and the principal in a professional and respectful manner.
