The Community Development Department consists of the following areas of operation: Physical Planning; Water, Sewer, and Waste; Streets, Parks, and Forests; and Real Estate, Environment, and Construction. The Projects and Investments Unit manages and coordinates the department’s new investments and reinvestments. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for a work team of approximately 4–6 employees and contractors. You will plan, lead, and assign tasks related to water and sewer systems in existing streets (replacement of existing pipes). You will also oversee new street construction as well as water and sewer work (new construction). You will conduct financial reviews and follow-ups, and provide service to the municipality’s clients and residents. Another major part of the job is ensuring that procedures are followed; you are also responsible for the work environment of your subordinates. You are responsible for ensuring that we comply with agreements with internal and external clients and that collaboration between them runs smoothly. The position includes being on call as a supervisor for either the water and sewer department or the winter maintenance organization. QUALIFICATIONS Requirements: You have at least a high school diploma, preferably with a technical focus. Or you have other education or experience that the employer considers relevant and sufficient for the position. You have experience in road engineering and road construction and have worked for several years in water and wastewater, earthworks and civil engineering, as well as preventive road maintenance—ranging from minor repairs to major reconstruction projects. We also expect you to have several years of professional experience, primarily in water and wastewater systems as well as stormwater management. Knowledge of construction machinery and attachments. Computer proficiency and strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. Class B driver’s license. Strong proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. As a production manager, you are clear in your communication, work with a clear focus on goals, and have a strong understanding of what works in practice, along with a genuine interest in customer service and development work. Since we work collaboratively to a large extent, we place great importance on your teamwork skills. You demonstrate personal maturity and feel confident in yourself and in your professional role. The position requires strong communication skills and responsiveness, as you will have frequent contact with the public. Preferred Qualifications: • Industry experience from previous work as a water and wastewater technician, plumber, or operations technician. • Water and wastewater education: Post-secondary education in water and wastewater engineering, environmental engineering, or civil engineering. • Ability to read blueprints: Experience reading and interpreting utility maps and blueprints. Certifications and Qualifications • Roadwork: Certification (APV 1 & 2) for safe work practices during road construction. • BAS U/BAS P: Training in construction site safety coordination for planning and execution. • A Class B driver’s license is required; a Class BE license is preferred. • Hot work: Certification in fire safety for welding or cutting. • Training in PE welding: Certification • Leadership experience, such as foreman, project manager, or team leader. • Knowledge of construction law and standard industry contracts, such as AB 04 or ABT 06. • Experience with budgeting, change orders, or invoice processing.
