JOB DESCRIPTION Harads School is a small village school (preschool through 6th grade) where our guiding principles—diversity, variety, and community—are designed to give every student the opportunity to develop into their best selves. The school is beautifully situated in the heart of the village, surrounded by forests, a river, and mountains. Our proximity to nature allows for daily outdoor activities that foster learning, play, and a sense of community. Here, diverse experiences, knowledge, and cultures come together as we use mixed-age and interdisciplinary approaches. Together, we foster an inclusive learning environment where everyone feels safe and welcome. Today, there are 55 students at the school enrolled in the B-form program. We have an after-school program with 22 enrolled students. The after-school program has its own wing with large, spacious, and well-equipped learning environments. You will: - Be part of the after-school program’s team and, together with them, be responsible for planning, teaching, and follow-up at the after-school program. You will base your work on the requirements of Lgr 22 and actively contribute to developing the school’s programs. - Depending on your qualifications and interests, be responsible for a specific subject or a small group during school hours. - Serve as a resource for a class or an individual student. - Be responsible for recess activities. - Collaborate with other educators for the benefit of the program. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who: - Is a trained after-school educator or after-school program teacher. You are also welcome to apply for this position if you have 60 college credits in education or the equivalent. If you are a trained after-school educator or after-school program teacher, you will be hired as an after-school educator and will be responsible for instruction in the after-school program. If you have 60 college credits in education or an equivalent qualification, you will be hired as an After-School Resource Teacher. - You are confident and prefer to work in a smaller setting. - are good at collaborating and building relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues. “Together” is our guiding principle. - are interested in taking responsibility for a specific subject during school hours. - have experience working with children with special needs. - Are flexible and eager to find solutions together with your colleagues and management based on the needs of the program. - Are positive and uplift your colleagues.
