The school has just under 150 students and employs highly qualified educators in all of the school’s professional roles. We place great importance on ensuring that Svartbjörnsbyn School is characterized by a safe and quiet learning environment and that we have a well-functioning student wellness program where instruction is engaging and understandable, with high achievement of learning goals. Digital tools are a natural part of our instruction, and we prioritize nature and physical activity through outdoor days, time spent in the woods and fields as well as on the school grounds, and planned recess activities. JOB DUTIES We’re looking for someone who wants to work alongside our safety coordinator and the safety team to ensure that our students thrive at school and feel safe. Your most important responsibility is to be a good role model and to be available to our students, fostering meaningful conversations and relationships with them; you’ll also be responsible for leading various recess activities. You’ll be responsible for preventive work, which means you’ll need to be accessible and visible primarily in the hallways, but also during breaks in the cafeteria and other school buildings. You understand how to manage groups, conflicts, and other situations that may arise at school. Your duties include, when necessary, providing individual instruction at another location, known as “emergency schooling.” We offer you a stimulating work environment. We have a well-functioning student health program and are actively engaged in school development across various areas. The position is full-time (100%), fixed-term for the 2026–2027 school year. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who is interested in and experienced with working with children and adolescents in group settings and is accustomed to collaborating in a team. You should also be comfortable supporting students in their learning in small groups or one-on-one. You are confident in yourself and your leadership skills and serve as a good role model for others. You have an interest in physical activity. Previous leadership experience is a plus.  Great importance is placed on personal suitability. Employment type: Fixed-term position. Duration: 6 months or longer; start date: As soon as possible or by agreement; end date: June 18, 2027.
