The Central Student Health Services supports preschools and schools in their efforts to promote children’s and students’ learning, health, and development. The Central Student Health Services currently employs a school counselor, a school psychologist, a special education teacher, a school nurse, and a school physician. Welcome to our team! JOB DUTIES
As a school counselor in the Student Health Services, you’ll play a key role both centrally and out in the schools. The school counselor’s responsibilities include providing psychosocial support at the school and working in accordance with the school’s overall mission. Your duties will involve taking a preventive and promotional approach from a health perspective, as well as providing support to students facing difficulties. You will collaborate extensively with special education teachers, school nurses, and school psychologists within the Central Student Health Services, and work closely with students, guardians, teachers, and school administrators. As a school counselor, you will work with groups as well as with individual students, and collaboration with external stakeholders is also part of the role. You should be an expert within the school regarding social work and social welfare legislation.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and professional experience in the field. Experience working in student health services and/or with children and adolescents is a plus. For the role of school counselor, it is important that you are independent, have a structured approach to work, and can plan and prioritize among many different tasks. You have strong collaboration skills and are self-motivated to build relationships at the school. You see opportunities and have a positive outlook on people. You have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability. A Class B driver’s license is required for this position.
Fixed-term employment for 6 months starting from the start date.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
