Torpgärdsskolan is located in a large residential neighborhood about 5 km from downtown Boden, with its main catchment area covering Bodsvedjan, Norrbyarna, Norra Svartbyn, Södra Svartbyn, and Torpgärdan. The school has approximately 300 students, with two parallel classes from preschool through 6th grade. We have three after-school programs: Galaxen, Kometen, and Stjärnan. Torpgärdsskolan has a large schoolyard with both wooded and grassy areas, providing students with plenty of space to play. The proximity to the forest and nature contributes to the school’s excellent opportunities for various types of outdoor activities.
At Torpgärdsskolan, we encourage active recess breaks, as well as “brain breaks” and physical challenges throughout the school day. The school’s priority goals are reading, writing, and math—these are central to the school’s development efforts in all grade levels. We strive to provide students with the best possible conditions to acquire new knowledge and develop strong social skills. At Torpgärdsskolan, we believe that knowledge is important and want students to have confidence in their own ability to learn and succeed. We practice collegial learning at the school to continuously improve our programs, drawing on current research and developments in this work.
With that said, we’d like to welcome you to our team—because surely you, too, want one of the most important jobs in the world!
