The focus has been on creating “rooms within a room,” so that the learning environment can serve as an additional teacher for the students, be easily adaptable, and at the same time enhance job satisfaction for both students and teachers. JOB DUTIES We are currently seeking a 4th–6th-grade teacher for Hedens School who can teach Science and Technology throughout the 2026–2027 school year and English during the fall semester of 2026. The position also includes mentoring and, to a small extent, serving as a substitute teacher.  Your daily work will include lesson planning, assessing and documenting student progress, and providing feedback on students’ academic development to students and their guardians. You will be part of a team consisting of other teachers, after-school program instructors, and special education teachers. This is a temporary position for the 2026–27 school year, ending June 18, 2027. QUALIFICATIONS We are primarily seeking candidates with a teaching degree and certification to teach science, technology, and English, but we also welcome applications from those with experience, training, or a strong interest in one or more of these subject areas. We are looking for someone interested in collaborative learning and school development. You have strong subject knowledge and a genuine interest in teaching and student learning. You are confident in your classroom leadership and have the ability to create structure, a calm learning environment, and favorable conditions for students to develop and succeed. You are familiar with the curriculum and the school’s guiding documents, or have the willingness and ability to quickly familiarize yourself with them. As a person, you are responsible, self-motivated, and team-oriented. You see opportunities in every student’s development and have the ability to build professional and trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
