Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters that works long-term to guarantee society's access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that shape modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will continue to play a crucial role in the future - what matters is how we produce them. Join us and drive change for future generations.
Do you want to be part of building the mine of the future?
With us, backfilling plays a crucial role in safe and sustainable mining. Once the ore has been mined, voids appear in the rock - and this is where you come in! We fill these spaces with paste, a material similar to a slightly looser concrete, to stabilize the rock body and allow mining to continue. Paste is pumped via a modern pipeline system from the above-ground plant, making the process both efficient and technically exciting. It is an important part of our efforts to create a safe working environment and contribute to sustainable mining.
Do you want to work with innovative solutions and be part of a team that makes a difference? Then this is the job for you!
We are expanding the Paste Backfill team and are now looking for two backfill workers to join our journey.
Your role
As a backfill worker, you will be responsible for preparing for the backfilling of excavated rock voids and monitoring ongoing fills. You will work closely with the underground production and have daily contact with the paste plant staff above ground.
The positions are permanent positions with shift work, 7-7 day and night. This means that you work one week Mon-Sun daytime 06.00-15.18 followed by a week off, then a night week Mon-Sun 18.00-03.00, followed by a week off.
Your team
You will be part of our team in the Mining Service section, where we work close to the core of the mine's future. You'll be part of the Paste Backfill team - a close-knit bunch consisting of four shifts of backfill workers and a technician, led by a dedicated supervisor. Together, we ensure that backfilling runs smoothly and safely, so that the mine can continue to develop. We focus on safety, cooperation, technology and responsibility - and you are an important part of the whole!
