Your role

As Business Controller at Boliden Mines, you are responsible for parts of the business area's financial management and work closely with managers and steering groups as a strategic sounding board. You participate in developing processes for long-term planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis, and contribute with insights that strengthen business decisions, profitability and continuous improvements within the business.

Your team

You belong to Business Controlling within the Mines business area at Boliden and work closely with both staff functions and operational activities. The staff functions are Business Development, Finance, Sustainability, Exploration and Technology and we support Boliden's mines in Sweden, Finland, Ireland and Portugal. You will report to the Head of Department and be based in Boliden.

Your tasks

  • Support managers, management teams and operations in financial matters regarding finance, production, sales and business decisions
  • Long-term planning and ensure that budgets and forecasts are kept
  • Ongoing reporting, performance analysis in monthly accounts, forecasting and budgeting
  • Analyze results, identify improvement opportunities and visualize financial correlations
  • Collaborate with project managers, ensure that financial aspects are integrated into projects and follow up on investments
  • Contribute to the development of working methods and processes that strengthen the profitability and efficiency of the business area

Your contribution

We believe that you are/have:

  • Curious and a learner with an interest in how business and finance are interrelated
  • Initiative and structured with a desire to understand what drives good performance
  • Engaged and confident in collaborating and bringing others on board
  • Communicating in a way that is aligned with the recipient's knowledge of finance

You will be qualified with:

  • University/college education in finance, for example business administration, accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
  • Work experience in finance, for example as a business controller, economist or accountant
  • Very good knowledge of Excel
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and English
  • Driving license for a passenger car

It is meritorious with:

  • Experience with monthly accounts, reporting, budgeting or other finance-related work in the production industry
  • Good knowledge of ERP systems and familiarity with BI tools
