As an Environmental Coordinator in Garpenberg, you’ll play a central role in developing and monitoring efforts related to water quality, emissions, and environmental impact at one of Europe’s most modern mines. You’ll contribute your analytical skills and understanding of complex systems to help the business make long-term, sustainable decisions. Your Role

As an Environmental Coordinator, you will work with both the analysis and monitoring of environmental data, with a focus on water quality. At the same time, the role involves responsibility for the external environment, where coordination and monitoring take place in areas such as biodiversity, waste, vibrations, contaminated soil, and remediation. You will help ensure that our operations comply with legal requirements and permits, while also developing work methods and a deeper understanding of how our systems function over time.

The role involves a combination of technical work, collaboration, and organizational structure, where you will work closely with operational teams, specialists, and regulatory agencies. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Your team

You’ll be part of the environmental team in Garpenberg, where you’ll work alongside environmental engineers and environmental coordinators with various areas of expertise. The team works closely with production, projects, and central functions within Boliden.

We work together to solve complex issues, share knowledge, and support one another in our day-to-day work. You’ll join a highly skilled team with a shared focus on development, quality, and sustainability.

Your Responsibilities

• Analyze and monitor environmental data, particularly related to water quality, biodiversity, waste, vibrations, contaminated soil, and post-treatment.
• Evaluate test results and identify trends and areas for improvement
• Compile and report environmental data to regulatory agencies and internally
• Contribute to the work involving permits, self-monitoring, and interactions with regulatory agencies
• Participate in projects related to water management and environmental development
• Work with systems and tools for environmental monitoring
• Collaborate with the business to develop work methods and solutions

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant college degree in environmental science, chemistry, water science, or a related field
• Basic understanding of environmental work and water-related issues
• Good command of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Class B driver’s license
• Proficiency in working with digital tools and data

It is advantageous if you have:

• Experience in industry, mining, or process operations
• Experience working with water management or environmental analysis
• Experience with environmental reporting or dealing with regulatory agencies
• Knowledge of environmental monitoring systems
