This is an opportunity for you who want to join and work for modern and sustainable mining operations. As head of department, you will be entrusted with developing, supporting and controlling Boliden mines' working methods to ensure our access to land, increase biological diversity, create meaningful collaboration with property owners, indigenous peoples and our local communities.

To help you, you have a team of six employees with expertise in forest and land issues, biological diversity, indigenous peoples, property owner and community contacts and more.

Together you support the operational activities from exploration to active and closed mines and lead change work in accordance with our strategic orientation.

Examples of your areas of responsibility include:

  • Ensure the employees' competence supply and the work with health, environment and safety
  • Coordinate and co-ordinate the work towards business units and other departments
  • Develop and maintain a systematic way of working and management system
  • Implement our strategic direction

You will be part of Boliden Gruvor's Sustainability staff where, together with two coordinators and four other department heads, you will report to our Sustainability Director. You are responsible for the department for land use and community relations based in Boliden. Traveling and visiting our facilities is part of the job.

You like challenges, have excellent communication skills and work in a structured manner with an overall perspective. With qualifications:

  • University education with a relevant focus.
  • Knowledge of land and environmental issues, biodiversity and forestry is a prerequisite for success in the role, as is knowledge of and an interest in indigenous issues and human rights.
  • Property owner and indigenous contacts are meritorious, as is knowledge of software such as ArcGIS and Borealis.
  • Experience as a leader / manager as well as experience of work in the mining industry is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and Swedish.
