Are you the one?

Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters that takes a long-term approach to ensuring society’s access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that have shaped modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will continue to play a crucial role in the future—what matters is how we produce them. Join us and drive change for future generations.

Your Role

As Unit Manager for Mechanical Maintenance South, you are responsible for creating the conditions for safe, efficient, and well-functioning maintenance operations. You will lead and support the team in their day-to-day work, ensure the right skills and resources are in place, and foster a positive work environment, engagement, and clarity.

The role includes, among other things, personnel and budget responsibility, as well as administrative tasks related to finance, human resources, and management systems.

Your team

Your immediate team consists of ten mechanics. Together, you work to ensure that maintenance work is planned, prioritized, and carried out safely and efficiently. On a day-to-day basis, you collaborate closely with maintenance planners, unit managers in the operations departments, and production and process engineers, among others.

The team serves the southern facilities: the lead cold plant, the lead refinery, the e-cold plant, the precious metals plant, the electrolysis plant, the tank farm areas, and the storage facilities.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and allocate daily work within Mechanical Maintenance South.
  • Ensure that work is carried out safely in accordance with work permits, risk analyses, and applicable procedures.
  • Conduct safety inspections.
  • Drive improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct performance reviews and plan and follow up on training and professional development for employees.
  • Work according to and develop methods for communication, planning, and reporting.

Your Contribution

To thrive in this role, we believe you are a confident and present leader with the ability to foster engagement and participation within the team. You communicate easily with various stakeholders and are responsive and humble in your leadership style.

We’re looking for someone who thrives on taking responsibility and who, in a structured and inclusive way, helps drive the work forward. You create the conditions for collaboration, development, and a work environment where employees feel included and are given the opportunity to grow.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A high school diploma, preferably supplemented with post-secondary education in a relevant field.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Experience in industry, mechanical maintenance, and/or workshop work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English.
  • Strong IT and systems skills.
  • Class B driver’s license.

Experience with personnel management, as well as knowledge of labor law, LEAN principles, and process development, is a plus. We would prefer that you have prior experience working with maintenance systems, but this is not a requirement.

At Boliden, we believe in fostering a workplace where care, courage, and responsibility are central to everything we do. We offer a workplace where we value collaboration and where your contributions will have a direct impact on future generations. We are a company made up of responsible and creative people who are all working toward the same vision: to become the most sustainable and respected metals supplier in the world.
