Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters that works long-term to guarantee society's access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that shape modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will continue to play a crucial role in the future - what matters is how we produce them. Become a part of us and drive change for future generations.
Boliden works actively with and has high demands on the environment, climate, health, safety and quality. We are now looking for a Section Manager External Environment who can help lead our environmental work and actively contribute to Boliden Aitik achieving its overall goals and visions, especially focusing on environmental and sustainability issues.
We can offer you an interesting and exciting work with developing challenges, rewarding social contacts and a corporate culture based on good values.
Your role
As Section Manager for External Environment, you have an important role in ensuring structured and proactive environmental work within Aitik. You lead and develop the section's work in line with Boliden's ambitions in sustainability and compliance.
You coordinate the environmental work and ensure that the business has the right conditions to meet requirements and drive improvements. The role involves close collaboration with the production organization, where you provide support and guidance on environmental issues.
Your team
You lead a section consisting of environmental coordinators and environmental engineers and are responsible for goals, follow-up and development of both operations and employees.
Through clear and present leadership, you create commitment, cooperation and a culture characterized by responsibility and development. You also work actively for a good working environment with a focus on safety, well-being and competence.
Your duties
As Head of Section for External Environment, you have an important role in ensuring good and operational support for Aitik in the environmental area. You are responsible for coordinating and driving the work in issues such as permits, contacts with authorities, dialogue with stakeholders, self-monitoring, biodiversity and aftercare.
You are involved in developing the section and working methods in your area, with a focus on collaboration, participation and utilizing the expertise of the team. The role also includes initiating, running and participating in development projects - both locally in Aitik and within the Mines business area. To succeed in the role, it is important that you enjoy collaborating broadly and building good relationships.
You report to the Head of Sustainability and are part of the department's management team, where you contribute to the joint work ahead. The position is located in Aitik, Gällivare, with daytime work. Travel is included in the role.
Your contribution
We are looking for you who have a university or college education in environment, chemistry or a related field. You have experience working with environmental issues and have previously held a management role where you worked to lead and develop employees. You will also have a good understanding of environmental legislation, through education and/or practical experience.
It is an advantage if you have experience from heavy industry, preferably with a connection to mining operations. If you have worked with permit processes, this is also an advantage.
To thrive in the role, we believe that you are a person who likes to collaborate and build relationships, as you have many contacts both internally and externally. You will work in a structured and systematic way, while having the ability to see the big picture and think long-term.
Your leadership is characterized by clarity, openness and a coaching approach, where you create commitment and deliver results together with your team. You are a good ambassador for Boliden's values - care, courage and responsibility - and help to ensure that safety and the Code of Conduct are a natural part of everyday life.
