Your opportunity:

Join us in advancing dam safety as an Instrumentation Specialist for the Aitik tailings storage facility and appurtenant structures. Here, you'll be part of an engaged team, focusing on innovative monitoring systems and measurement solutions for dams and water systems. Take on responsibility for planning, managing, improving measurement systems, routines and evaluating data. You'll support equipment installations, lead projects, and contribute to other initiatives within dam safety.

Who you will work with:

The team consists of 7 colleagues within 3 different areas (deposition, instrumentation & monitoring and construction) and support functions, such as the dam safety engineer. Your closest colleague will be the technician who plans and carries out field works. We are a welcoming team with diverse responsibilities where collaboration and community matters.

What you will do:

  • Responsibility for instrumentation & monitoring system and reporting within dam safety
  • Strategically plan and follow up on work efforts, develop procedures and maintenance plans
  • Ensure that measurements meet the requirements
  • Leading improvement and development work as well as smaller projects
  • Collaborate with external contractors and suppliers
  • Develop and implement systems for follow-up and analysis
  • Continuously improve instrumentation and measurement methods
  • Contribute to a strong safety culture


What you bring:

  • Minimum a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, technical instrumentation or another relevant field
  • Experience with instrumentation, ideally in dam construction or process industry
  • Experience within projects and responsibility for contacts with various stakeholders
  • Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Swedish is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A valid category B driver's license.

You demonstrate a solution-oriented approach, excel in team settings, and willingly take on responsibility. Proven ability to establish effective routines and systems, coupled with keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety, are essential attributes. You value structure and maintain a high level of organization. Additionally, your excellent communication skills and collaborative nature contribute positively to group initiatives.

About Aitik:

The Aitik mine is situated 15 km southeast of the town Gällivare in Sweden. Operation commenced in 1968 and Aitik is today one of the largest copper mines in Europe, with a permitted production rate of 45 Mton per year.

The TSF has recently undergone a major remediation programme and has been under 2025 externally audited and found in full conformance with the GISTM.
