Do you want to work in one of the world's most modern and digitized underground mines? In Garpenberg, Boliden operates a highly automated and stable process where quality and safety are at the center. We are now looking for a Laboratory Assistant who wants to contribute to ensuring reliable analyses for our daily operations and continued development.

Your role

As a Laboratory Assistant in Garpenberg, you are an important part of the quality assurance within the Enrichment Plant process. You are responsible for sampling, sample preparation and analysis of materials from the enrichment process and ensure that the results are of a high technical and analytical standard. Your work will have a direct impact on process control, metal yields, boat deliveries and production efficiency.

Your team

You will be part of the laboratory within the process department, working closely with process engineers, technicians, supervisors and operators in the enrichment plant. The team is experienced, well organized and has a strong focus on safety, quality and improvement work.

Your tasks

  • Conduct sampling and sample preparation from different steps of the enrichment process.
  • Perform chemical and instrumental analyses, such as:
  • Sieving
  • XRF
  • Wet chemical analyses
  • Ensure the functioning, calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Document and report analysis results in LIMS and internal systems.
  • Contribute to the development, updating and quality assurance of routines and instructions.
  • Active participation in work environment and safety work, including 5S.
  • Participate in improvement projects linked to sampling methodology, process control and quality development.

We are looking for you who have:

  • Post-secondary education in chemistry, analytical chemistry, laboratory technology or similar technical / scientific field.
  • Experience of laboratory work, preferably from a process, mineral or industrial environment.
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both in speech and writing.
  • Good computer skills and preferably experience of LIMS or similar systems.
  • Ability to work in a structured, safe and quality-conscious manner.
  • Experience with instrumental analytical methods such as ICP, XRF or wet chemistry is advantageous.
  • Experience in light maintenance is meritorious.
  • B driving license.
