Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters that works long-term to guarantee society's access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that shape modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will continue to play a crucial role in the future - what matters is how we produce them. Join us and drive change for future generations.

Your role

In the role of Lubrication Technician, you are responsible for ensuring high reliability and long life of our machines through sampling, analysis and systematic lubrication. You work closely with the business and contribute directly to our production being safe, sustainable and efficient - every day.

Your team

You will be part of a collaborative excavator and drilling team that includes inspectors, hydraulic technicians, planners and preparers. The role involves close and ongoing collaboration with excavator service, which is responsible for oil changes and grease refills.

Your tasks

As a Lubrication Technician, you will, among other things:

  • Perform representative sampling of lubricating oil, hydraulic oil and fuel.
  • Ensure that sampling equipment is calibrated and operational.
  • Conduct initial analyses, e.g. viscosity, water content and particle contamination.
  • Collaborate with external laboratory for in-depth analysis.
  • Documentation, interpretation of results and recommendation of actions.
  • Sampling in case of oil spills or environmental incidents to assess impact.
  • Perform lubrication and machine maintenance.
  • During maintenance stops, work on work orders and proactive controls.

The work is carried out in the field; on maintenance sites, large rope sites and sometimes directly in production. This may involve working in awkward positions and at different heights, depending on where the operation is needed.

Your contribution

We believe you are a person who is systematic, meticulous and confident in making independent decisions. You have good communication skills and are safety conscious and have an understanding of the risks of working with large machinery. You thrive on varied working days and switching between practical tasks, analysis and documentation.

  • Complete upper secondary education
  • Basic technical knowledge of lubrication systems, motors or hydraulics.
  • Experience of working administratively, e.g. with documentation.
  • B-driving license

Additional:

  • Experience of lubrication, sampling or maintenance work.
  • Previous work in industry, vehicle, machine or mining environment.
  • Experience of MAXIMO or other maintenance systems.
