Are you the one?

Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters that works long-term to guarantee society's access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that shape modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will continue to play a crucial role in the future - what matters is how we produce them. Join us and drive change for future generations.

Your role:

As a mechanic in the Excavation and Drilling Maintenance section, you play a key role in ensuring that our machines run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. The assignment involves performing mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance in the field on the production department's excavators and drilling rigs. Together with the team, you will handle both planned maintenance stops and emergency repairs during production time. In order to thrive and succeed in the role, we see that you have a positive attitude, are flexible and see opportunities and solutions where others see obstacles. You are easy to cooperate with others, are responsible and have a strong sense of initiative and a desire to constantly develop.

The working hours are based on shift work according to K2, which means varying work shifts between morning, afternoon and week off. Since production in the Aitik mine is ongoing around the clock and all year round, emergency preparedness is also included in the service.

Your team:

You will be part of a positive and dedicated team consisting of eight mechanics and four welders. Together we work to achieve common goals and support each other to ensure a high availability of our machines.

Your tasks:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Manage emergency repairs
  • Carry out minor welding work
  • Perform other service and maintenance tasks
  • Active participation in development and improvement work

Your contribution:

  • High school education with industrial engineering focus
  • Experience from light welding
  • Communication skills in Swedish and English
  • Driving license for passenger car

It is meritorious if you have good computer skills and knowledge/experience from the maintenance system Maximo, as it is an important tool in the work. If you have competence in hydraulics and a C-driving license, this is also an advantage.

We offer a workplace where we believe in collaboration and where what you contribute will have a direct impact on future generations. We are a company of responsible and creative people all working towards the same vision; to become the most sustainable and respected metal supplier in the world.
