Your Role

We are now seeking six preparation operators across all shift teams within the preparation team. As part of the Preparation Team, you’ll enjoy a varied role, with opportunities to work on drilling, loading/blasting, core sampling, and drilling services.

Your team

You will be part of a shift team of three to eleven people and will collaborate closely with other preparation and production functions at Aitik. The team has extensive experience and supports one another in their daily work. During your orientation period, you’ll work alongside experienced colleagues and receive the training needed to feel confident in your duties.

We’re hiring for both K3 and K2 shifts. K3 consists of 12-hour shifts, including day and night shifts. K2 consists of morning and afternoon shifts.

Please indicate in your application which shift schedule and shift team you prefer!

Your Responsibilities

  • Operate the Pit Viper 351 drill, both from the control room and directly from the drill rig in the field. Drilling takes priority during night shifts.
  • Monitor drilling processes and manage the control systems
  • Perform light maintenance, machine upkeep, and replace wear parts on the drilling equipment
  • Core sampling of ore and waste rock samples, as well as setting out
  • Loading and blasting, including boosting with Fordyn, setting off charges, performing blasts, and conducting safety training

The work is partly performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and involves physically demanding tasks.

Your contribution

We look forward to working with you—someone who builds strong relationships and collaborates effectively with others in cross-functional teams. To succeed in this role, you must be attentive, responsible, and able to stay focused in an environment where safety is always the top priority. You thrive in a combination of independent work and teamwork. The job requires precision, technical understanding, and a high level of safety awareness in all tasks.

Requirements:

  • Completed high school education
  • Good computer skills
  • Communication skills in Swedish and English
  • Class B driver’s license

Experience in the mining industry, hot work, fall protection training, and a blasting license are considered a plus. Experience operating machinery and prior training or experience in drilling and/or charging is also a plus.
