Your role:
In the role of Production Technician at the Garpenberg mine
you will mainly work on optimizing the in-situ mining cycle or the disc pallet mining.
Depending on who you are and what you have previously in your background, the role as a Production Technician means working towards maximizing the operation of our headings with minimal overburden against planned design. To create the right conditions, you also work continuously to revise our drilling, loading and ignition plans. In disc pallet mining, you work to refine the method and quality assure the flow of information to ensure that everyone has the right information in the right place.
We are now facing an upcoming challenge where we will mine ore bodies we have not mined with the disc pallet method before. To continue to be a world-class mine and meet the future production level linked to quality and productivity, the role of Production Technician also involves ongoing work to analyze and find areas for improvement. The service also involves ensuring that the machines are available and that we use the right number of machines in an efficient and safe way, as safety is of the highest priority in our business.
Your team:
You will be part of the Production Maintenance section where you report to the Production Manager and will be part of a team of 14 people in different roles. You will work closely with other Production Technicians and Supervisors and have broad cooperation with other departments in the mine.
The position is located in Garpenberg underground, you work daytime Monday-Friday.
Your tasks:
- Be involved in projects
- Work with the planning process
- Plan machine purchases
- Lead groups in improvement work
- Support the supervisors with the development of working methods
- Review and update checklists and SOPs:s
Your contribution:
We are looking for you with several years of experience in mine planning or operations and with very good underground experience from tunnel or mine. We would like you to have an innovative approach to change and development in the industry. The ability to communicate clearly and drive improvement work is of great importance for the role.
As a person, you are structured and solution-oriented. You are driven, good at collaborating and have the ability to get employees to work towards the same goal. As we work in a structured way against set schedules, it is also important that you can work under higher pressure at times and when the work so requires.
In addition to this, you are analytically inclined with good problem-solving skills. You will lead your work independently as well as working in larger groups and in varying forms.
Requirements for the role:
- At least upper secondary education
- Experience from the mining industry or equivalent
- Fluent Swedish and English in speech and writing
- Computer skills and experience of the Office package
- B-driving license
Additional for the role:
- Certification - Explosives license class A
