Are you the one?

Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters that works long-term to guarantee society's access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that shape modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will continue to play a crucial role in the future - what matters is how we produce them. Join us and drive change for future generations.

We are looking for new colleagues as we expand the organization as Boliden grows at existing sites and through new acquisitions. This is an opportunity for you who have long experience and want to contribute with your knowledge, or for you who are in the middle of your career and want to develop and deepen your skills further. It may also be right for you who are at the beginning of your career and are looking for an exciting challenge to grow with.

Your role

As a project manager, you run large pre-projects and investment projects for the Mines business area and create the mines of the future with a focus on automation, electrification, digitization and sustainability. Your projects can range from investments in new facilities to advanced technical infrastructure above and below ground. You will be based at our central office in Boliden or at one of our mine sites, and regular attendance at the project site and travel are a natural part of the position.

Your team

You will be part of our central technical and project office together with other project managers and a project administrator. Here you will be part of a network that supports each other, shares knowledge and works together to achieve success. We offer established project models, internal training and support from both central and local functions.

Your tasks

You will:

  • Lead and coordinate pre-projects and implementation projects at our mining sites Aitik, Boliden area, Garpenberg, Kevitsa, Somincor, Tara and Zinkgruvan
  • Ensure that projects are of high quality, on time, on budget
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with local project offices, internal functions and external suppliers/consultants
  • Contribute with technical expertise and continuously follow the industry's technology development
  • Prioritize health, environment and safety in all work

Your contribution

We are looking for you who are structured, communicative and have the ability to create commitment in project teams towards common goals for the value of the business. You enjoy working closely with the business and have a solution-oriented attitude.

We believe that you have:

  • Education: Relevant post-secondary education, preferably a university / civil engineering degree, with a focus on, for example, technology, science or economics as well as project management.
  • Experience: Documented experience of working in projects and of having a leading role, preferably in industry and construction projects.
  • Skills: Business understanding, project planning, team management and decision-making. Technical understanding, risk management, problem solving and quality assurance. Cross-functional cooperation and negotiation with partners.
  • Language: Good knowledge of Swedish and English (Finnish is meritorious).
  • Driving license: B-driving license for passenger car.

Certification in project management (PMP/IPMA), experience in project models and working in complex environments is a plus.

We offer a workplace where we believe in collaboration and where what you contribute will have a direct impact on future generations. We are a company of responsible and creative people all working towards the same vision; to become the most sustainable and respected metals supplier in the world.
