Your role

We are now looking for a Purchasing Manager to join our Group Procurement team with responsibility for Aitik. This is a strategic role where you will be the main contact for all procurement related activities on your site. You will be responsible for coordinating purchasing needs, implementing local purchasing initiatives, supporting the implementation of category strategies and following up and driving proactive purchasing activities. You are based in Aitik, Gällivare, working mainly from the workplace and travel is possible.

Your team

You will work closely with local site management, project managers and internal stakeholders. You will be supported by a direct reporting strategic buyer. You will also work with category managers, logistics, tactical buyers and other colleagues within the purchasing organization. Externally, you will have contact with suppliers, consultants and contractors. You will report to the Purchasing Manager Mines but your daily work will be guided by the needs of Aitik's business.

Your tasks

  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery of products and services.
  • Be a competency manager for your site and stay informed about cost developments and local supplier markets.
  • Educate stakeholders and customize sourcing materials locally.
  • Maintain strong communication and relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ensure contract monitoring and support contract management.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of category strategies.
  • Support sustainability and site safety initiatives.
  • Coordinate procurement planning related to investment needs.
  • Update purchasing plans continuously and report site-related activities and challenges.

Your contribution

Academic degree or other post-secondary education, equivalent experience in purchasing or relevant business. Strong skills in negotiation, e-sourcing and ERP systems. A structured, ethical and people-oriented approach with problem-solving skills and determination.

Fluency in both Swedish and English and a class B driving license is required.
