Road maintenance worker for the Kankberg mine

Your role:

Do you want to pave the way for the mine of the future? At Kankberg we have a fleet of machines waiting for you where you will play an important role in creating a safe and pleasant working environment in the mine. If the mining environment is new, then of course we will train you! We are now looking for three Road Maintenance Workers for the Kankberg mine who want to work with us to maintain and build roads in the mine. It is an exciting and varied assignment that includes driving several different machines, such as backhoe loaders, wheel loaders and trucks. In the role of Road Maintenance Worker, we see that you can work independently and have the ability to communicate clearly as you perform the jobs yourself and all communication takes place via communication radio. We also want to see that you take responsibility, are orderly and patient. You see what needs to be done and take initiative to solve tasks in a safe and efficient way.

Your team:

You are part of a team of eight employees belonging to the Mining Services department, of which three employees work with road maintenance. Close communication and cooperation takes place within the team and the department, but also with other sections and departments to be able to adapt your job so that other production flows as smoothly as possible in the mine. One position works daytime Monday-Thursday and the other two positions work shifts 7/7, that is, every other week in the morning Monday-Sunday and the other week off. In addition to the other role descriptions, the daytime worker also has coordinating responsibilities.

Your duties:

• Building new roads and ensuring they have the correct gradients and road materials.
• Preventive road maintenance, such as grading, road scraping and digging.
• Diking and other water removal operations, including maintenance of pumping pits.
• Moving machinery in the mine
• Preparatory work for slab drilling.

Your contribution:

• High school education, preferably with a focus on automotive mechanics.
• Machine experience
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English.
• B-driving license
• We see it as a merit if you have experience in the mining industry, wheel loader license and experience in water and land.
