Do you want to be part of driving the technological development of future mining? As a Senior Development Engineer within Electrification & Automation (E&A), you will play a key role in introducing new technologies and building the production system of the future based on electrified and automated vehicles in Boliden's mines. Here you will combine advanced technology with practical change work and contribute directly to a more sustainable, efficient and safe production.


Your role

In the role of Senior Development Engineer, you will be a central part of Boliden's investment in electrification and automation of mobile machines and associated infrastructure. You will work both strategically and operationally to plan, drive and execute implementation projects, from early needs analysis to follow-up of implemented systems. The role combines technical expertise, project management and change management where you contribute to realizing the company's goals in climate, productivity and safety.

The position is a permanent position during the day with location in Boliden or in Garpenberg. The role involves some travel in connection with projects and collaborations within the business.


Your team

You will be part of the Electrification & Automation (E&A) section, working together with specialists in automation, electrification, energy management and business analysis. The team supports Boliden's mines in technology shifts and you interact daily with operations, purchasing, technical experts, suppliers and project organizations within Boliden. The role involves close dialog with both operational and management functions.


Your tasks

  • Lead and carry out implementation projects in electrification, automation and autonomous systems.
  • Create technical specifications and evaluate suppliers of equipment and systems.
  • Run pilot projects and tests of new technologies.
  • Support the business in investment decisions, project planning and business impact analysis.
  • Monitor technology developments in electrification, automation and energy management.


Your contribution

We are looking for you who have:

  • Civil engineering degree or equivalent technical education in automation, electrical engineering, automotive engineering or equivalent that the employer considers equivalent.
  • Experience with mining machinery, trucks and construction equipment and its use.
  • Documented experience in automation, electrification or autonomous systems.
  • Experience in technical implementation projects in industry
  • Good ability to run complex projects independently.
  • Experience in presenting technical solutions to different types of stakeholders.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, spoken and written.
  • B-driving license.


It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience from heavy industry, automotive industry or mining technology
  • Experience in procurement, profitability calculations, investment processes and commercial discussions.
  • Knowledge of battery technology, charging infrastructure or energy management.
