Your role
As a Senior Mining Geologist in Aitik, you will work in close collaboration with several teams, exploration, mine planning and ore base department. You will contribute to the development of the mining geology team and work actively with improvement work and development issues.
The role includes responsibility for tasks such as;
- Plan, initiate and coordinate infill drilling
- Map drill core and conduct geological interpretation
- Quality assure data for the geological database
- Update mineralization model with new geological data
- Update production block model and reconciliation
- Identify and evaluate potential risks in the production plan related to geological information
- Maintain and improve working methods, standards and processes
- Work in close cooperation with other working groups and support development
- Drive improvements, identify, initiate, lead and participate in development projects
- Other tasks as required in the area
The position is a full-time permanent position based in Aitik. Start date is subject to agreement.
Education/experience
We are looking for you who have a university degree in geology with at least five years of experience in mining geology or similar. You have previous experience in diamond drill hole planning and mapping. You have experience in 3D modeling and are used to using CAD programs.
Qualifications
You are structured, driven and result-oriented as a person. You enjoy taking on new challenges and are driven to improve and contribute to an efficient and profitable mining operation. You are expected to have good communication skills as the role involves many contacts and collaborations. You are flexible and enjoy working both independently and in a team. Personal qualities will be highly valued.
You have good knowledge of the Swedish language or the desire to learn. The work also requires good knowledge of the English language in speech and writing.
Driving license B is a requirement.
