Technician, Component Repairs for UH Coordination

Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters that works with a long-term perspective to ensure society’s access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that have shaped modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will continue to play a crucial role in the future—what matters is how we produce them. Join us and drive change for future generations.

Your Role

As a component repair technician, you’ll work on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical components such as pumps, hydraulic cylinders, gearboxes, brakes, and other production equipment. The work includes both minor, routine repairs and larger, scheduled maintenance tasks.

You’ll have clear responsibility for the quality of the work you perform, as well as for ensuring that relevant information about the components’ status and history is documented. By identifying faults, suggesting corrective actions, and contributing to ongoing risk analyses and work instructions, you will help develop safe and efficient maintenance practices.

Your Team

You will be part of the component repair operations at Aitik. In your day-to-day work, you will work closely with a colleague on your shift; you will plan and carry out the work together. You’ll also collaborate with other departments, both internally and externally, as needed.

This is a permanent position. Work is conducted on K2 shifts—morning and afternoon.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on components such as pumps, belt drums, cylinders, gearboxes, and brakes.
  • Dismantle, inspect, and assess the condition of components, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Document completed work and technical history in the company’s maintenance system and reports.
  • Coordinate work with colleagues, contractors, and other technical departments, both internally and externally.
  • Follow up on components sent to external companies for inspection or repair.
  • Participate in safety inspections and incident reporting, among other activities.
  • Contribute to risk analyses, safe work procedures, and clear work instructions.
  • Contribute to project work using your technical expertise.
  • Develop work methods that ensure a consistent workflow, high quality, and high availability in production.

Your Contribution

To thrive in this role, we believe you value hands-on problem-solving and close collaboration with others. You work methodically to understand the causes of technical faults, evaluate various solutions, and take responsibility for driving the work forward in a safe and structured manner.

You plan, document, and follow up on your work, and communicate clearly with colleagues and partners to contribute to an efficient workflow.

You contribute to an open work environment by sharing knowledge, taking the initiative when you see opportunities for improvement, and being eager to learn from others.

We are looking for someone who has

  • A high school diploma, preferably with a focus on technology or industry.
  • Practical experience in mechanical maintenance, repair, or equivalent technical work.
  • Experience working with one or more of the following areas: pumps, hydraulics, gearboxes, cylinders, and bearing installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions. In both Swedish and English.
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and English.
  • Manual Class B driver’s license.
  • Experience with digital documentation and the ability to work easily in various systems.

Experience in the mining industry, bearing installation, or working in a maintenance system—such as Maximo—is a plus.

We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all the qualifications. We value potential, motivation, and the desire to grow with us.
