Coop Norrbotten is one of the county’s largest private employers, with stores in every municipality in the county. As an employee with us, you become part of something bigger. We are a member-owned grocery chain, where profits stay right here in Norrbotten. They go toward new or renovated stores, more jobs, and everything that makes life a little better in our part of the country.
We’re now looking for a business-driven leader who delivers results by leading and coaching other managers, with the opportunity to influence and develop an entire business area. If this sounds interesting to you, the role of Business Area Manager could be your next step!
As Business Area Manager at Coop Norrbotten, you’ll be responsible for customer satisfaction, sales, operations, profitability, and employee engagement within your business area—which consists of about 15 stores in various locations across Norrbotten. You’ll have personnel responsibility and will set the direction, clarify expectations, follow up on results, and develop store managers’ ability to lead their operations. You’ll be part of the Sales Department and report to the Sales and Marketing Manager.
The role involves a strong focus on business development, follow-up, and improvement initiatives. You’ll work closely with the stores through regular store visits. You’ll help each store understand its local market, prioritize the right activities, and strengthen its position relative to competitors.
Your responsibilities will include:
You are a business-oriented leader with a strong financial and analytical understanding of sales, profitability, margins, and costs—and you are able to translate analysis into concrete actions. You have the ability to prioritize, organize, and see the big picture of the business. Through strong collaboration skills and clear leadership, you foster engagement and contribute to developing both people and results.
Experience in the grocery retail sector—for example, as a store manager, supermarket manager, regional manager, or in a similar role—is a plus. Experience with budgeting, labor law, workplace safety issues, and labor union relations is also considered a plus.
