Elvia is looking for a committed and energetic electrical safety engineer for the Local Electrical Inspectorate (DLE).

DLE is part of the public supervisory system for electrical safety and has an important social mission to prevent damage and accidents caused by electricity. The department is the link between the authorities, grid customers and industry players, and works in accordance with guidelines from the Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Preparedness (DSB).

As an electrical safety engineer in Norway's largest grid company, you will have a key role in electrical safety. We are looking for someone who can and wants to contribute to further strengthening us in the field of electrical safety. You will represent the company in dialog with expert companies, customers and electrical contractors. You will also be one of our points of contact with public supervisory authorities such as DSB, the Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority, the Norwegian Fire and Rescue Service and others.

The most important tasks that await you:

  • Follow up and have dialogue with suppliers (expert control companies)
  • Handle supervisory cases in accordance with the Public Administration Act
  • Represent the DLE department internally in Elvia and in public forums, committees, etc.
  • Contribute to the implementation of information meetings, e.g. with the electrical industry
  • Participate in continuous improvement and development of the subject area
  • Take independent responsibility for their own professional development. This includes updating current regulations, internal guidelines, requirements and work descriptions

Who are you?

  • Professional certificate as an electrician and technical college electrical or relevant Bachelor's/Master's degree in electrical
  • Requirement for approval as a professional in electrical (installer test)
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience in the field after graduation
  • Experience from public inspections in DLE or expert companies is an advantage
  • Updated on developments in the field
  • Knowledge of:
    • relevant regulations and their interpretation
    • the Public Administration Act, the Archives Act, the Freedom of Information Act and instructions from the Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Preparedness
    • supervision and audit methodology and measurement techniques
  • Good Norwegian written and oral presentation skills. Good oral English presentation skills are an advantage
  • Good user skills and interest in ICT systems
  • Driver's license class B
