Description of activities
The Social Administration conducts statutory activities with the support of the Social Services Act, the Health Care Act and the Act on Support and Services for Certain Disabled Persons. The Social Administration shall, on the basis of democracy, promote people's economic and social security, equality in living conditions and active participation in community life, but also provide good care, health care and services to the elderly, people with disabilities and others who need social support. We are now looking for a unit manager for the care and care department.
Duties
As a unit manager, you will work close to the business and operationally with a clear responsibility for users, employees, work environment and finances within your business. You will lead and manage the business through a results-oriented approach based on political target management and self-monitoring. You will be part of the Department of Health and Social Care's management team and will report directly to the Head of Department. In cooperation with the management team, you will be responsible for your unit but also for the department as a whole. To support your mission, you have supervisors and other unit managers within the department and the social administration, as well as support from municipal-wide functions such as human resources and finance.
Qualifications
You have:
- a college/university education suitable for the assignment
- experience of working as a manager/leader, experience of work management
- ability and interest in managing finances and operations in a holistic perspective
You have the ability to meet people and create trust and security within the organization and towards our users. We want you to see opportunities, be open to new ways of thinking and have the ability to enthuse your colleagues. The position requires you to have leadership and collaboration skills. It is also meritorious if you have training in personnel and finance.
As we are an administrative municipality for the minority languages Sami, Finnish and Meänkieli, we see it as positive if you master one of the minority languages.
Working hours/Duration
Long-term temporary employment from summer/autumn 2025 to autumn 2026, flexibility is available regarding the start and end date of the employment.
