The position of Board Secretary is located in the Board and Investigation Department, which is part of the Support and Development Administration. The department is responsible for several important support functions within the municipality, including committee administration, archive activities, consumer guidance and guardianship activities. Our mission is to provide a qualified support function to the municipality's committees and administrations, with a focus on legal certainty, efficiency and good service.

Job description

We are now looking for a Committee Secretary for the Committee and Investigation Department, a key role at the heart of municipal decision-making. Here you will have a socially important and varied assignment, where you actively contribute to ensuring that our political decisions rest on a solid administrative foundation. You will work closely with both politicians and civil servants, and will be an important cog in the work for structure, quality and legal certainty.

As a committee secretary, you will be responsible for the administrative process linked to the municipality's political committees. You are a central support function to both elected representatives and officials, and work in an environment where accuracy, service and coordination are crucial. Your main duties will include the administration of political meetings, including notices, meeting documents and minute taking. You will provide support to committees and administrations, coordinate contacts and handle day-to-day administration such as mail, registration and archiving. The role also includes secretarial duties in municipal councils, participation in the development of case management and digitization, and participation in the planning and implementation of general elections.

Qualifications

For the position, you have a relevant university degree and/or experience in administrative work that the employer considers equivalent. The job requires you to be able to work independently, in a structured and service-oriented manner, and to use current IT tools for the job. You need to be service-oriented, communicative, responsive and have the ability to see the big picture and focus on quality. You must have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and be comfortable with following regulations, legislation, etc.

Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Working hours/duration

Full-time, permanent employment. Probationary period may apply.
