Business description

Hedskolan is a f-6 school with adapted primary school that is 3-paralellig with about 500 students and 100 employees. We are centrally located in Gällivare municipality within walking distance of the sports hall, swimming pool, etc. Hedskolan has a well-developed working method for collegial learning that touches all parts of the curriculum. You will be part of a management organization with two qualified principals.

Duties

As an assistant principal, you work as a supervisor for adapted primary school and after-school care. Your duties as assistant principal largely involve having a close leadership to staff. You are subordinate to the principal who has ultimate responsibility for the respective activities. You will be responsible for the school's work organization with the following tasks: Daily supervision of staff, procurement of substitutes, recruitment, daily staffing planning, scheduling, introduction, SBA, self-monitoring, financial administration, personnel administration, property and premises responsibility, as well as ongoing tasks towards the principal. You will have staff responsibility for about 25 staff in adapted primary school and after-school care

The assignment as deputy principal includes collaboration with the municipality's school management group, other authorities, guardians, other administrations in Gällivare municipality, etc.

In all areas of responsibility, it is important that you see your area of responsibility as part of the whole school and have a long-term and unpretentious approach.

Qualifications

We see that to succeed in the assignment, it is a requirement that you have a teaching license and professional experience. We would like to see that you have management experience from school operations. We are looking for you who are committed, responsible and have the ability to work independently as well as in a team. You will meet and interact with many different people, which requires good communication skills and social agility. To succeed in this role, you will need to enjoy working with others and be able to take different people's perspectives on various issues that you encounter in your everyday life. You should also be a clear leader who is able to create good cohesion in a work group and get thoughts and ideas heard in decision-making processes. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Extracts from the police's criminal record will be presented before employment commences.

Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Working hours/Duration

Full-time, permanent employment, vacation employment. Probationary period may apply.
