Description of activities

The environment, construction and rescue administration is organizationally a separate administration. The Board for Environment, Construction and Rescue is a regulatory board. The unit handles building permits, carries out supervision according to, among other things, LBE and LSO and works with issues in the areas of the Environmental Code and food legislation.

Work tasks

We offer you a stimulating and developing work with great responsibility and nice colleagues. Your tasks will first and foremost be the processing of measures subject to legislation and notification. We make our own delegation decisions and prepare decision documents for the building committee. We handle cases all the way from the application being received, to the decision on a permit or start notice, from technical consultations to site visits, final consultations and decisions on final notices when the project is completed. The tasks also include the management of mandatory ventilation control, elevators and some supervision.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with education in construction technology and good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act, the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's building regulations and the Administrative Procedure Act are advantageous, as well as legal knowledge is considered meritorious. To succeed in your role as a building inspector, you need to enjoy working both independently and in a team. You should be service and development oriented. You should have a good ability to plan and organize your work. Good judgment and decision-making skills are other important qualities in the role of building inspector. Experience in record keeping, public document management and archiving would be an advantage. You must have computer skills, as most of the review and follow-up of building permits is done via various computer programs. Knowledge and experience of the Nova business system and the GIS system Geosecma are highly meritorious.

The position requires that you are thorough and have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing. An essential part of the business consists of contacts and information to the public. We therefore attach great importance to your personal qualities. Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

B driving license is a requirement.
