
Job Description
The position of Car Pool Manager is part of the Real Estate and Services Department within the Community Development and Technical Administration. The Real Estate and Services Department is responsible for the municipality’s real estate, facility management, housing adaptations, car pool, and public transportation. Gällivare Municipality’s car pool consists of approximately 110 vehicles, which are distributed across all municipal operations and the shared car pool.
Job Responsibilities
The role of Car Pool Manager involves ensuring the efficient use of the municipality’s approximately 110 vehicles. The Car Pool Manager handles vehicle-related matters concerning procurement, operations, and sales, and is responsible for coordinating and continuously monitoring the vehicles. The Fleet Manager serves as the municipality’s point of contact for vehicle-related matters with the municipality’s various departments, auto and tire companies, insurance companies, and other stakeholders. The Fleet Manager handles invoicing, the municipality’s vehicle and insurance registries, damage reports, vehicle taxes, and fuel cards. The role also includes responsibility for bookings in the Traka vehicle reservation system, which covers six bookable vehicles.
The Car Pool Manager handles the purchase and disposal of the municipality’s internally leased and bookable vehicles through the municipality’s contracted agreements and participates in reference groups for new vehicle procurements, where great emphasis is placed on the municipality’s environmental goals. The role includes providing management and operational support for car pool matters, as well as preparing and presenting reports on the monitoring of vehicles, fuel, and utilization rates.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a high school diploma or an education that the employer deems equivalent. We are looking for candidates with strong knowledge of vehicles and computers. Experience in a similar industry and in procurement is a plus. Experience in a supervisory role or similar is a plus. Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is a plus when applying for a position with Gällivare Municipality.
As a person, you need to be flexible and communicative in your work, and have a confident and stable approach toward coworkers and customers. You work independently and are comfortable presenting your work to the municipality’s management. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
A Class B driver’s license is required

Work Hours/Duration
Full-time, permanent position. A probationary period may apply.
