Description of Operations

Would you like to work with legal protection and public service? The Guardianship Unit is now seeking two employees for our operations. These positions are part of our ongoing efforts to develop and strengthen our operations. Depending on the applicant’s experience and qualifications, the positions may be filled as case managers or as administrators/registrars with some case management responsibilities. The Guardianship Unit is responsible for supervising guardians, trustees, and curators. Our mission is to protect the rights of individuals who are unable to safeguard their own legal and financial interests.

 

We are part of the Lapland Guardianship Board, a joint board for the municipalities of Gällivare, Jokkmokk, and Pajala.

This position is an expansion of our operations and has been created as part of our long-term development efforts. By strengthening our operations, we are creating better conditions for further developing our work methods and ensuring high quality in the execution of our mission.

 

Job Responsibilities

Job responsibilities will be tailored based on the position’s focus and the applicant’s experience.

As a case manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing annual accounts, final accounts, and financial reports.
  • Handling cases in accordance with the Parental Code and other relevant legislation.
  • Conducting investigations and preparing opinions for the board and the court.
  • Recruiting and training guardians and conservators.
  • Providing information and advice to representatives, family members, and government agencies.
  • Collaboration with municipalities, courts, and other government agencies.

 

As an administrator/registrar, your responsibilities will include:

  • Registering and filing incoming documents.
  • Administrative handling of cases and documents.
  • Support for case workers and the unit manager.
  • Liaising with the public, legal representatives, and government agencies.
  • Archive and document management.
  • Responsibility for regularly updating information on the organization’s website.
  • Developing, updating, and quality-assuring templates, forms, and other informational materials.
  • Some handling of simpler cases may occur.

 

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is meticulous, responsible, and has good judgment. You enjoy working in a structured manner, have strong collaboration skills, and are able to work independently.

 

For the case officer position, we prefer that you have:

  • A college degree in law, social sciences, economics, or another relevant field.
  • Experience in public administration or specialized case management.

 

For the administrator/registrar position, we would like you to have:

  • Education in administration, records management, or another relevant field.
  • Experience with record-keeping, document management, or other public administration.

 

For both positions, it is important that you:

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish.
  • Possess strong digital skills.
  • Be able to interact with people in a professional, respectful, and service-oriented manner.
  • Find it easy to familiarize yourself with regulations and procedures.
  • Experience in the public sector and knowledge of relevant legislation are considered an asset. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
  • Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is a plus when applying for a position with Gällivare Municipality.
