Description of Operations

Myranskolan is a preschool through 6th-grade school with approximately 140 students and an after-school program, located in Koskullskulle just outside downtown Gällivare.  The school employs teachers and homeroom teachers who are jointly responsible for the students’ academic development, well-being, and social interactions.

The after-school program complements the school’s instruction and offers meaningful after-school activities that focus on the students’ interests, participation, and various forms of self-expression. Myranskolan also has special education teachers, a school counselor, and a school nurse who work as a team to create positive and accessible learning environments for all students.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher, your primary responsibilities will include planning, teaching, assessment, and promoting core values based on the curriculum for middle school grades 4–6. You will work both independently and in collaboration with your colleagues at the school.

Qualifications

We are looking for a teacher who is certified to teach subjects in grades 4–6. You must be proficient in using computers and technology in your daily work. You should be responsible, clear, and driven, and be able to easily build good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Commitment, innovation, a solution-oriented approach, and an interest in and ability to collaborate are qualities that the school values. Great importance is placed on personal suitability. Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is considered an asset when applying for employment with Gällivare Municipality. 

A criminal record check is required upon hiring.

You are confident in your professional role, have strong collaboration skills, and maintain a professional demeanor toward students, colleagues, and parents. You work independently, take initiative, possess strong communication skills, and are fluent in spoken and written Swedish.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Work Hours/Duration

Full-time. Permanent position. Starting January 7, 2027
