About Us

Aurora Preschool opened in the spring of 2019 and is beautifully situated in the Mellanområdet neighborhood of Gällivare, next to Tallbacka Preschool. We have four classrooms surrounded by inspiring forests and nature, which we use as a natural part of the children’s learning.

In the center of the building is our “square”—a lively gathering place where children from throughout the preschool come together to play, create, and explore. The preschool is designed to foster interaction and participation, with age-segregated groups (ages 1–3 and 3–5) and a large playground that encourages physical activity, nature experiences, and the joy of discovery year-round.

We are now looking for an active and dedicated childcare provider who wants to help develop our preschool—where children and educators learn, thrive, and grow together.

Job Responsibilities

As a childcare provider at Aurora, you’ll be an important part of a team that works closely together across all departments. Together, we create inspiring learning environments where the children’s influence, curiosity, and creativity take center stage. You will work in a department with children aged 3–5.

You will participate in planning, reflection, and systematic quality assurance efforts, and help create a safe and nurturing learning environment where every child is challenged, explores, and succeeds.

We take an exploratory and collaborative approach—where the children’s questions and interests guide the way forward. Peer learning, joy, and a sense of community are important parts of our daily lives.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• has early childhood education training or equivalent experience in a preschool setting.
• are positive, curious, and confident in your professional role
• view children as competent and have faith in their abilities
• take initiative and responsibility, and enjoy collaborating as part of a dedicated team
• use or are eager to learn more about digital tools and educational documentation
• are well-versed in preschool guidelines (Lpfö 18)
• values good relationships with children, colleagues, and guardians

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Proficiency in any of these languages is considered a plus when applying for employment with Gällivare Municipality.

Full-time 100% Permanent position
