Description of Operations
Tallbacka Preschool is a three-classroom preschool located in the same building as Tallbacka School in the Mellanområdet neighborhood of Gällivare. The classes are currently mixed-age groups for children ages 1–5, with a maximum of 18 children in each group. The preschool is very close to nature in the Mellanområdet neighborhood and uses this natural environment as a learning setting in its teaching with the children.
Tallbacka Preschool operates based on sustainable development and gender equality, with a clear foundation in the 2018 Preschool Curriculum. Tallbacka Preschool, together with Granbacka and Aurora Preschools, is part of a collegial network where we collaborate and exchange experiences. Our operations are safe and well-established. We use a project-based approach in our work with the children, and the children’s interests and input form the basis for how our teaching is structured. We place a strong emphasis on outdoor education and use nature as a foundation for the children’s learning and development.
Job Responsibilities
As a childcare worker, you will be responsible—together with the rest of the team—for participating in planning, carrying out activities, and reflecting as a team, as well as for implementing systematic quality assurance efforts in collaboration with other colleagues and teams at the preschool. The children should be given new challenges and receive support and stimulation for their development and learning. You will actively collaborate with parents and guardians, always guided by the center’s mission and the best interests of the children.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with training as a childcare worker who wants to help develop our exciting program. It is important that you are thoroughly familiar with our guiding documents. Our mission is based on the 2018 Preschool Curriculum. You are a clear leader, independent, responsible, and able to take the initiative. Naturally, you are positive, have confidence in the children’s abilities, and are committed to developing their skills. You are interested in using digital tools and value trusting relationships with children and parents, and you have strong collaborative skills. You enjoy using pedagogical conversations and pedagogical documentation in your work or are willing to learn more about these practices. You are interested in developing the preschool and its learning environments. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
