Description of Operations

In March 2019, the Municipality of Gällivare opened the Aurora Preschool in the Mellanområdet neighborhood near the Tallbacka Preschool. It consists of four classrooms located near inspiring forests and nature. We are now looking for a support staff member who can help continue to develop a preschool where children and staff thrive and grow together; you will work to strengthen the team in one of the classrooms.

The departments are arranged in pairs within the building, with age-based groups for 1–3-year-olds in one corner of the building and 3–5-year-olds in the other.  In the center of the preschool is a central courtyard that serves as a natural gathering place for play and exploration for the entire facility. The preschool has a fantastic outdoor play area that offers great opportunities to incorporate nature and the outdoor environment as an important part of the children’s learning environment. You will be part of a team that collaborates across departments to actively develop learning environments where the children’s influence, exploration, and learning take center stage, and where collegial learning is a given. It is the children’s own interests and abilities that will guide our activities, which promotes the opportunity for all educators to engage in inquiry-based learning together with the children.

Job Responsibilities

As a resource teacher, you will strengthen the work team by providing children in need of special support, stimulation, and the assistance they require in a 3–5-year-old department. Together with the rest of the team, you will be responsible for participating in planning, carrying out activities, and reflecting as a team, as well as implementing systematic quality assurance efforts in collaboration with other colleagues and teams at the preschool. Children should be given new challenges and receive support and stimulation for their development and learning, and children who need special support should receive it as needed.

Qualifications

  • that you are interested in using digital tools to challenge the children’s learning.
  • that you value trusting relationships with children and parents and have strong collaborative skills with other colleagues.
