Business description

Hedskolan is a nice F-6 school and adapted primary school with about 500 students, located in a residential area close to the center. The proximity to both the forest and ski trails is tangible and is used extensively by students and teachers in teaching and at breaks. The work teams are divided into stages and grades with close cooperation around all our students. The atmosphere is characterized by openness and curiosity about new ways of working. We place great emphasis on pedagogical discussions and collegial learning, which is the driving force in our development work. The school's profile is movement and outdoor life.

Tasks

As a class mentor, you follow a class in grades 4-6, all day and are responsible, together with teachers, for creating security, well-being and study peace. You are an active resource in the classroom and the after-school program, you are also responsible for break hosting and break activities. You will have contact with guardians based on social issues and thus also have a joint responsibility together with teachers for documentation regarding norms and values. The assignment also includes substituting in the event of staff absence at the school and after-school center. Your work includes responsibility and work in the after-school program, before and after school.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have an upper secondary education or other education that the employer considers equivalent. As a person, you should be positive, have a present and responsive approach to the different needs of students. You create commitment and participation, are a clear leader and have good collaboration skills. You are also flexible, independent, responsible and able to take initiative. Great importance is attached to personal suitability. Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
