Business description
Tallbackaskolan is a F-6 school with about 300 students as well as an after-school department and two preparatory classes, located in a residential area between Gällivare and Malmberget. At Tallbackaskolan we work with parts of the Gällivare model, which means that in each class in grades 1-2 there is a teacher responsible for teaching and a class mentor. In grades 3-6, a teacher responsible for teaching works with the support of a class mentor who may be attached to one or more classes. The central student health service is located at the school and students have access to a school counselor, school nurse, 2 special educators, school psychologist and the principals. The after-school program is a complement to the school where students' abilities are developed through various forms of expression and based on students' interests.
Duties
As a class mentor, you work closely with both students and teachers to create a safe, structured and inspiring learning environment. Your role is important in the students' everyday school life and you function both socially and pedagogically. The service includes: Providing support in the classroom, individually and in groups, creating good relationships with students, staff and guardians, collaborating with various functions within the school, including student health, contributing to a positive school climate in a calm environment. Work in our after-school program is also included.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have upper secondary school qualifications or other education that the employer considers appropriate. In the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
Working hours/Duration
Full-time, permanent employment. Probationary period may apply.
