Puoltikasvaara is located 5 mil north of Gällivare, beautifully situated on the shores of Lake Soutujärvi. The children at our school come from the villages of Skaulo, Puoltikasvaara, and Moskojärvi. Puoltikasvaara School is a small school for students in grades F–6, with classes consisting of 4–8 students. The school is located in the same building as the preschool and works closely with both the preschool and the after-school program. The school has recently been renovated and offers a very pleasant indoor environment with well-designed learning spaces.

Emmaskolan in Mettä Dokkas is a rural elementary school in the municipality of Gällivare. It includes a preschool class, an after-school program, and grades 1–6 of elementary school. The school has 50 students from Dokkas, Mettä Dokkas, Leipojärvi, and surrounding villages, with a steady influx of new residents. Adjacent to the school is the newly built Emma Preschool, which has two classrooms. The school has close access to large natural areas that are used in all of the students’ activities.
