We are expanding with Deputy Force Leaders in our 4 shift teams. At Gällivare Rescue Service, you work as an important player in a small organization. We have a large geographical area to handle, everything from mines to mountains and vast mountain forests.
Most of the municipality's inhabitants live in Gällivare urban area where our full-time station is also located. In our villages we have five rescue teams that help us by being first on the scene and being able to help initially. We handle about 300 alarms per year. We have cooperation with our neighboring municipalities, and the industrial fire departments in the area. Duties
As a Deputy Force Commander, you will supervise staff both on a day-to-day and operational basis. You work closely with the regular team leader on the shift team. Together you plan and are responsible for the daily work at the station, as well as other work in preventive and operational activities. You are independently responsible for your own cases/tasks, but the work also requires close cooperation with colleagues and other authorities around you. The rescue service in Gällivare municipality is under development and you will therefore have a natural part in the work of improving and developing the processes, routines and working methods in the business. In the role of force leader, you also have contact with Gällivare's municipal residents, companies, other authorities and the like.
Qualifications
We are looking for a positive, structured and self-driven person who has the ability to collaborate and appreciates working in a team. We attach great importance to leadership qualities and that you are the right person for the team you will join. We value your responsiveness and your ability to build trust and a climate of cooperation. You should have a few years of experience working in the emergency services. We see that you have good insight into the law on protection against accidents and other laws and regulations that govern and affect the work of the rescue service. We assume that you have good computer skills in the commonly used computer programs and have easy to express yourself in speech and writing, in order to be able to train your own staff and citizens in the community. As deputy force leader, you must also be able to function as a firefighter and in the role of smoke diver leader. As the rescue service is undergoing intensive change and there are major challenges in the work, we attach great importance to you being flexible and change-prone. We also see it as positive if you have experience of working in a politically controlled organization. Before employment begins, an aptitude test will be carried out and you must have an approved medical examination, you need to be approved as a smoke diver according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations.
