Business description

The Culture Department of the Youth, Leisure and Culture Administration is looking for a unit manager with operational responsibility for Gällivare Cultural Museum and Culture School. The Cultural School in Gällivare Municipality is the municipality's largest activity when it comes to aesthetic activities for children and young people. The activities offer teaching in music, dance, singing, drama, art and studio technology. Kulturskolan in Gällivare is run both during and after school hours. Gällivare Cultural Museum is a living interactive museum under development, we particularly care about the implementation of our minorities' culture and the educational part for children and young people in the daily activities.

The municipality's cultural mission is based on service and enabling stimulating and enriching meetings and experiences. Gällivare municipality's culture department works progressively. Duties

You are responsible for ensuring that the activities maintain a good quality, for business planning and goal follow-up. You have staff responsibility, work environment responsibility and financial responsibility for the activities. You report directly to the Head of Department and are part of the Culture Department's management team, where you contribute to the entire department's mission of a rich and dynamic cultural offering, with a focus on the increased well-being of our citizens. You will also play an important role in the political dialogue on behalf of the Youth, Leisure and Culture Department. You will work with concept and idea development as well as with project management for existing as well as new events. You will initiate new projects in collaboration with the management, projects that you then run together with your colleagues, from anchored decisions to results. We want you to create long-term strategies for the development of events, information and hospitality.

You are expected to work creatively and therefore you like progressive change processes. You develop your business through the positive qualities of digitization, and cherish the target groups that are not quite comfortable in that development. Of course, you also work with the analog experience and the conversation as well. You are a key player in the dialog with other stakeholders regionally and actively monitor the business environment.

Qualifications

You have an adequate college or university education or equivalent training and/or experience deemed equivalent by the employer. You also have experience in a supervisory, managerial or leadership position. Experience in business development and working in a politically governed organization would be an advantage. Financial training and/or previous experience of budgetary responsibility would be an advantage. Experience in running projects with external funding is a big plus. We will attach great importance to your personal qualities and are looking for you with the ability and interest to lead, organize and develop activities/projects. You interact successfully with others and focus on good results. You have the ability to delegate and follow up on tasks. The ability to cooperate and to lead in processes are important qualities. You have demonstrated in previous employment a good ability to create a good working environment.
