The environment, construction and rescue administration is organizationally a separate administration where the staff handles building permits, carries out supervision according to, among other things, LBE and LSO and works with issues in the areas of the Environmental Code and food legislation for the Environment, Construction and Rescue Board, which is the responsible board. The environmental department, which consists of 9 inspectors and an administrator, handles issues regarding the Environmental Code, food, non-prescription drugs, health protection and alcohol and tobacco.

We are now looking for 2 environmental inspectors specializing in health protection and environmental protection.

Tasks

We offer you a stimulating and developing work with great personal responsibility and nice colleagues. Both positions are focused on supervision and handling of cases in environmental protection and health protection. We make delegation decisions and prepare decision documents for the Environment, Construction and Rescue Board and provide information, guidance and advice to both the public and companies.

Qualifications

Education in the field of environmental and health protection or equivalent education and a good understanding of working in a politically controlled organization is an advantage. You should have computer skills as most of the case management and follow-up is done via various computer programs. The position requires you to be thorough and have a very good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing. An essential part of the activities consists of contacts and information to the public. It is therefore important that you have very good communication skills. We attach great importance to your personal qualities.

To succeed in your role as an environmental inspector, you need to enjoy working both independently and in a team. You need to be able to handle several different cases at the same time and be service and development oriented. You should have a good ability to plan and organize your work. Good judgment and decision-making skills are other important qualities in the role of inspector. You have a genuine interest in helping others and are committed to delivering solutions. Great importance is attached to personal suitability. Under the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

B driving license is a requirement, the municipality has both a car and bicycle available.
