In Gällivare Municipality, we have a unit that handles all official duties within the social services sector. We are now looking for a foster care coordinator who wants to work with foster families in the placement of children, as well as with contact families and contact persons.
Job Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include recruiting and assessing foster families, emergency foster homes, contact families, and contact persons. The position also involves training and supervising contractors and, together with the social worker, helping to ensure that children placed in emergency foster homes and family homes receive the care they need. The work involves collaboration with other colleagues within our organization, as well as internal and external collaboration.
The position includes on-call duty. It is an advantage if you have a Class B driver’s license and possess a good command of spoken and written Swedish.
Qualifications
You hold a degree in social work or have training deemed relevant to the position. You must have a good understanding of applicable legislation and a humanistic view of people. You are comfortable working independently but also enjoy collaborating in a team and are able to maintain good relationships.
You are service-oriented, solution-focused, and have a flexible mindset, as the job may require making decisions in urgent situations. You need to be self-assured, able to set boundaries, and maintain a professional demeanor.

We focus on hands-on leadership, a coordinator for supervision, and external supervision in collaboration with other caseworkers. You will be offered the opportunity to participate in “Yrkesresan,” a national skills development program for social services that focuses on children and youth, as well as foster care.
Work Hours/Duration
Full-time, permanent position. The Social Assistance Unit operates on a reduced workweek schedule, with a weekly work hours of 35.92 hours. The position includes on-call duty. A probationary period may apply.
