Gällivare municipality is looking for a strategic and committed head of department for the home care department, which is part of the social administration. With us, you get the opportunity to make a real difference for both employees and residents.

As head of department, you are responsible for leading, developing and following up the activities in home care and municipal health care. You are the head of our unit managers in these areas and have overall responsibility for quality, finance and personnel. You are part of the management team and work closely with the head of administration and other department heads to ensure a holistic approach to management and development. Your mission is to provide the unit managers with support and conditions to drive the activities forward, with a focus on quality, accessibility and good treatment.

Tasks

  • Lead and support unit managers in home care and municipal health care
  • Responsible for operational development, quality, finance and work environment
  • Participate in and contribute to strategic development projects within the administration
  • Ensure that legislation, guidelines and political decisions are followed
  • Collaborate with internal and external actors to create a coherent care chain

Qualifications

  • Have a relevant university degree, for example in care, social work or leadership
  • Has documented experience in leading managers or larger organizations in health and social care
  • Is a clear, communicative and inspiring leader
  • Has a good understanding of both the operational and strategic parts of the business
  • See development and collaboration as natural parts of your leadership
  • Has an interest in and preferably experience of welfare technology and digital development

Experience from municipal health and care operations and knowledge of current legislation such as HSL and SoL are meritorious. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Within the framework of the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli and Finnish. Knowledge of one of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
